An easy breeder and birther, Josie is a very attentive mother and has a curious but well-appreciated habit of camping her legs backwards while her youngsters nurse, helping them negotiate to the snack bar.  She produces loads of milk and her crias gain weight exceptionally well, yet she maintains her own body condition well during lactation, making her an easy keeper.

Josie is well halter-trained and enjoys long walks in the surrounding orchards with her friends.  Despite her large, solid correct proportioned frame, Josie is an incredibly calm animal during routine herd maintenance, standing quietly and not minding in the least the occasional poke of a needle or the clip of a toenail.
